FINALLY continuing with my main storyline again xD

remember Ace? ^-^ BiscuitAli and me finished our RP, this is the first cut

<-- previously //

When Ace was about to go through the door, Riley grabbed his shoulder, his white cold eyes staring right into Ace's and his voice low and urgently: "Do you enjoy murdering people?"
Ace turned his head around, seeing Riley’s icy cold eyes looking at him. "It's my job so I guess I have to", he answered, shrugging his shoulders.
"Do you perceive joy when your bullet hits right through their brain? Does the fact that you shot the target fill your mind with happiness?", Riley asked again, not letting go of his shoulder, without any change in his voice.

RP:

Evelyn was on the balcony, watering her flowers when she noticed out of the corner of her eyes some dark creature walking by somewhere down there. Her brother had left in the early morning already, so it couldn't be him, with a dark jacket like that. She lunged over the ceiling, and almost dropped her watering can as her eyes spotted the person. She headed downstairs and yanked open the door even before the dark creature could have touched the ringing bell. "Ace!", she said, staring at him, not believing what she saw. "You're still here!" Her voice sounded relieved. And she took another step forward to hug him. She hadn't heard anything about him for more than two years! She felt lucky to know he was still alive.

Ace stood there quite surprised, he needed one moment to understand. But after he realized that it was Evelyn hugging him, he couldn't control himself anymore and hugged her back. Perhaps not as carefully as he wanted to. He was just so glad to see her again. And she seemed to feel the same way. "You don't know how glad I am to see you again", he whispered, slowly letting her go. "You look good", he added with a gentle smile.

"To see me? You can't imagine how glad I am to know you're still breathing!", she said as they let go and smiled warmly. "Thank you. I only can return that compliment. Stayed fit as a fiddle of course", she giggled and boxed him lightly into his shoulder. As she looked into his face again she noticed something was wrong. Yes, of course, why else would he have come over? After two years? Surely not to say hello hi I'm alive. Her smile disappeared. "Why are you here, though? There must be a reason you came here now."

Ace smiled one last time, still extremely glad to see her, then his face turned serious. "I need to discuss a few things with Krisztián", he answered. His voice sounded somehow cold.

Evelyn understood the seriousness of the problem and nodded. "He's downstairs, in his lab. You'll recognise it's door." She stepped aside and pointed with her arm to the stairs. "Oh and, as long as you're not in private, you should call him Riley because... well, we're hiding", she added. Oh boy, she hoped it was nothing too serious.

"Okay, thanks", Ace said and walked in the indicated direction. He suddenly stopped when he reached the stairs and turned around to look at Evelyn once more. A slight smile appeared one his lips. "Freya?", he asked with a quiet voice. "I'm glad you're okay." The last words were so silent only she could hear them. Ace turned away and walked down the stairs.

It was a bit darker downstairs but Ace had no problem finding the door Evelyn meant. It really wasn't hard to see. He went towards it and knocked even if he was sure that Riley had already heard him coming.

Before Ace's hand could meet the door it opened automatically. Riley was sitting there, in some old wooden chair which obviously didn't belong into this room next to a lifeless body. Wait, no, sleeping body. He turned to him, trying to give him a smile but his look was tired. "Nice of you to show up after more than... two years?", he said, sounding a bit ironically. He let go of Lia's hand and stood up. "You came to ask about Murray, Ash, whatever. Is that right?" He was eyeing him carefully. The door closed automatically behind Ace again.

Ace wasn't sure what to say or how to react. There were too many impressions. So he just stood still and nodded. His gaze was wandering around the room. He had so many questions. "I knew that Ash wouldn't tell me about what's going on... so I thought I could ask you", Ace finally began.

Riley nodded: "He's going through a harsh time at the moment." He pointed at the chair, inviting him to sit down. "You're searching for explanations." His eyes met Ace's. "So you'll get them."

Ace sat down, still quite overwhelmed by the whole situation. "I might have known it", he mumbled and raised one's eyes to Riley. "So... please, tell me what's going on."

Riley nodded slightly once again and leaned against some table, watching his girlfriend sleep. "He didn't tell you because he wants to avoid dragging you into it aswell. Do you remember Zakhar?" He tilted his head back to Ace.

Ace followed his glimpse and ended up looking at Lia for quite some time. He felt so sorry for her. But as he didn't want to bother Riley even more he just looked down, not saying anything. Just answering his question. "Yeah, I do", he said after a little break and sighed. How could he forget Zakhar?

"You know, back at Jack's, we didn't just do some contract kills or dealing when we were 'leased'. We aswell were forced to... let's say, whore us out if our master wished so. I mostly took those jobs for my team since I wouldn't mind too much. Also, because I knew Murray would be their second choice, for Zakhar I knew it for sure. But since Ash stuck to that business after we escaped Zakhar found him again and forced him to accept the job. It's dragging him down alot. I'm working on a plan to get him free, but that takes time. I don't have the resources anymore, I have to fight Jack's defense systems alone. It simply takes time." Riley watched Ace while talking. He wanted to study his reactions carefully. How much did he know? Had he changed?

Ace didn't know if it was shocking or just surprising him. He had known that there was a man. But he hadn't known that this man was Zakhar. He swallowed heavily.  "That's intense man", he whispered, his voice sounding weak. Pity overcame him as he now finally unterstood Ashs situation.

Riley nodded again, satisfied by Ace's reaction. He had stayed humane. "It was. Is." He seemed to think for a moment. "That plan I'm working on wouldn't sound any better. But I could use some more people I can trust. Since you stayed a contract killer aswell and close to Ash, would you like to help him? I can pay you well."

Ace grew stiff. Of course he wanted to help Ash. That was the main reason he came here. "I would really like to help him", he started, "but I don't expect to be paid. I still owe you for the help I've gotten from you in the past, remember?" Ace smiled kindly. Oh. All those memories came back once more.

Rileys last words hit Ace like a hammer. From where did he know about them? Did Ash told him? Did he saw them? Then he slowly realized how foolish he acted when it came to Ash. He worried about him more than he normally did, he couldn't stop thinking about him and about that 'thing' that had happened between them. OHMAI. Ace wanted to slap himself. That was so annoying.

He got up very quickly, thanked Riley for everything and told him, how grateful he was about the invitation for dinner.

Ace sighed. "Not exactly. If I wouldn't need the money that urgent I definitely wouldn't be doing it."

Riley let go of his shoulder, straightening his back. "I wouldn't do that normally. But I can offer to try and get yourself free. I'd teach you riding. I'd employee you as a rider. You could earn money legally. Of course. Only if you'd like."

Again Ace wasn't able to think straight. He was just that stunned. "I don't know what to say...", he brought himself to say. "That's more than I expected when I came here. You already helped me out enough but now... wow. That would be great!" He sounded quite confused but then a smile appeared on his face. "Could I offer you anything in return?"

Riley shook his head. "The fact that you want to stop murdering people is enough. Just. Don't make me regret my offer." His voice remained just as calm and cold as it had been all the conversation long. Then stepped back, walking back to the old chair slowly. "I'll see what I can do. Now, if you'd excuse me, I got some more work. See you at dinner."

"You won't regret it, I promise", Ace said while walking out of the room. As he went out the door closed behind him. And there he was now. Standing there still not knowing if he was just dreaming. He shook his head and got upstairs to greet the other people. He wondered if they would still remember him.
